Almost every high school student has to attend all the classes and pass the annual exam to receive a high school diploma. This takes years to be a high school graduate plus a lot of hard work.

As per the data, the United States had a high school graduation rate of about 84.6%, which shows that over 15% of students did not want to attend full-time high school.

It concludes many students face personal or professional problems, including financial issues, so they cannot continue with high school, and as a result, they have to drop out of school.

However, dropping out of high school is not a negative point, and it will not impact your career or resume as long as you have a second option of getting a high school diploma like a GED.

It allows high school droppers and adults to complete high school diplomas without attending full classes. They must prepare for a few months and clear the exam in every section.

This is good enough to receive a high school equivalency diploma. The GED is also valid in about 98% of colleges and HR in various organizations that accept GED diplomas.

  • Students who never graduated from high school
  • Your age must be at least 18 years old (some states allow 16-year-old students too)

Some additional requirements may apply, which depend on where you live. For example, students who want to take the GED test must be residents of a state and have been out of high school for a fixed amount of time.
